Today there was a history lesson in grade 5 on the topic: «In Athenian schools and gymnasiums.»

Type of lesson: a journey with role-playing elements.

Plot: The class is in a Greek school. Pupils are Greek disciples, I am their teacher. They studied Greek lessons: literacy and arithmetic.

In class, the students:
— learned that in Greek 24 letters
— met with the Greek alphabet
— tried to write Greek words and sentences on the blackboard and in the notebook
— studied the arithmetic signs of the ancient Greeks
— solved Greek arithmetic problems.

In the next lesson, students in the role of Greek students will attend classes in poetry, music, dance, etc.

The children liked the lesson very much, they expressed a desire to learn the Greek alphabet and asked me to work with them in Greek at non-school hours.
